As I am, so are others;
as others are, so am I.
Having thus identified self and others,
harm no one nor have them harmed.

Tom Robbins <3 [20 Aug 2007|11:20pm]
“When we're incomplete, we're always searching for somebody to complete us. When, after a few years or a few months of a relationship, we find that we're still unfulfilled, we blame our partners and take up with somebody more promising. This can go on and on--series polygamy--until we admit that while a partner can add sweet dimensions to our lives, we, each of us, are responsible for our own fulfillment. Nobody else can provide it for us, and to believe otherwise is to delude ourselves dangerously and to program for eventual failure every relationship we enter.”

“The highest function of love is that it makes the loved one a unique and irreplacable being.”

“Our Similarities bring us to a common ground; Our Differences allow us to be fascinated by each other”

“The bottom line is that (a) people are never perfect, but love can be, (b) that is the one and only way that the mediocre and vile can be transformed, and (c) doing that makes it that. We waste time looking for the perfect lover, instead of creating the perfect love”

“Love is the ultimate outlaw. It just won't adhere to any rules. The most any of us can do is to sign on as its accomplice. Instead of vowing to honor and obey, maybe we should swear to aid and abet. That would mean that security is out of the question. The words "make" and "stay" become inappropriate. My love for you has no strings attached. I love you for free.”

"I believe in people, and their divinity and the divinity of nature totally and the order of things and the many many many systems that make up chaos. Anybody who knows what its like to create an artistic moment, its just a heightened human language. If you've spent a night making love, you know exactly what it means to strip your ego down when you are there, expressing yourself, wordlessly, collaborating on a moment, that has an energy about it that is replenishing, or even, completely inspirational ... in a way you can never imagine, thats the way art REALLY is,"

For the Gnostic Christians, the Sophia was a central element in their cosmological understanding of the Universe. A Feminine figure, analogous to the human soul but also simultaneously one of the Feminine aspects of God and the Bride of Christ, she is considered to have fallen from grace in some way, in so doing creating or helping to create the material world.

The Sophia resides in all of us as the Divine Spark
